店內氣氛的設想是很大的重點。比如說不放日語歌曲,是 #因為比較容易打斷談話中或是專注於筆電書本的客人。而外籍顧客也不在少數,因此像歌詞裡有粗話的作品,店內播放的會是像電台使用的消音版 (clean version)。
遇到特別活動如耶誕或運動賽會時有特別選曲,其中像 2016 里約奧運時就選入了日語歌曲,傳遞出向日本國手打氣、以及提醒顧客關注國家隊的概念。
受訪時日本麥當勞總公司一個月會收到大約 25 次關於選曲的詢問,權英哲也非常興奮地告知小島。小島表示在其他業主的業務上也是常遇到風格的限制,但麥當勞把類型範圍開到最大值,工作起來非常開心。
